 INSTRUMENTS

   Doug Plays:  Guitar, various styles including; flatpicking, fingerpicking, slide, swing, blues, ragtime, acoustic, electric, rhythm and back-up.    Banjo, styles including;  old time frailing, folk, melodic clawhammer, bluegrass, and now venturing into swing.  Harmonica, played solo or with a holder. Styles include, blues, western, boogie, folk,  and  self accompaniment.  Bass, used mostly for recording and back-up.

   Although not recognized for  vocals, Doug  works his voice in an effective way, along with the instrument and the mood of the song.    Sometimes telling a story or brief commentary on the theme of the song.  Maybe an occasional joke or an audience participation question.  Works especially well in more intimate gigs like senior centers and coffee house venues.
